Specialized Anxiety Treatment for Children and Families

Individual Counseling
Anxiety can show up in big ways, leaving families spiraling. We can’t always prevent our kids - or ourselves - from struggling, but we can build skills to thrive in the face of life's challenges.
With skill building through Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure Response Prevention (ERP), and the Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) approach, we help parents and kids develop a toolbox of evidence-based strategies to face their fears and courageously take back their lives.
Our focus is on providing therapy that makes a meaningful difference in people’s lives. We equip parents and kids to manage life’s challenges with more confidence and ease. We teach parents and kids to be mindful of emotions, to notice thoughts, and to put helpful strategies to use to build tolerance for all the uncertainties that life casts our way so we can get back to the stuff that makes life good.
Parent Support
Is your child struggling with anxiety? Are you struggling to know how to help them?
As parents ourselves, we know that our kid’s anxiety is not our fault. But we also know that we have incredible power to be part of the solution to our child’s anxiety - as well as our own. We can help our kids get unstuck from anxiety and build the skills needed to thrive in the face of challenge.
Using the SPACE treatment approach developed by Eli Lebowitz of the Yale Child Study Center, Wonder Within helps families by providing a safe place for parents to develop a clear plan for addressing family anxiety challenges. Solution-focused, we help you rediscover your creative problem solving abilities and build tools for managing the unique challenges of parenting an anxious child.
Research shows that working with parents is more effective than working with anxious kids. At Wonder Within we think this is incredible news. You have the power to change your family’s relationship with anxiety! Let us help you figure out how.
Groups
Research shows that group workshops for anxiety are as effective as individual counseling. And, they’re more affordable!
In groups, children who struggle with anxiety learn that they are not alone. Following an evidence-based group format, your child goes from receiving support for their worry to extending support to their peers. They get to be the expert, developing their unique voice and skill-set to conquer their worries. Participants also get the opportunity to build camaraderie with their peers - which helps foster greater self confidence and connection - a huge win for any kid!
Groups are fun, they’re engaging, and they work. Enroll your child in a group and watch as they learn to conquer the “what'-if’s” that are keeping them stuck.
